How and Why we collect information

For example, we collect information when you become a client or debtor of Great Ocean Properties Pty Ltd, enter into a rental agreement or lease, make an enquiry about our services, asked to be placed on our mailing lists, make application for employment with us or visit our website.

Our staff or other Great Ocean Properties Pty Ltd Offices may pass on your contact details so that we can send you product or property information or ask you if you wish to be placed on one of our mailing lists. Likewise for marketing purposes, we may access various databases in the public domain and obtain referrals from our existing clients. If you apply to enter into a rental agreement or lease, you may be the subject of a credit check conducted by an authorized credit agent.

Sensitive information
We do not collect sensitive information such as your race, religion, beliefs or sexual preference, except where you have consented or where we are permitted or required by law to do so.

How we use the information we collect
We use personal information primarily for the purpose for which it was collected. Because most of our information is collected from you directly, you will normally be aware of the purpose of the collection.

Right to refuse access or correction
We reserve the right to refuse your request for access and correction if, for example, we consider your request to be frivolous or vexatious, or we are legally entitled to do so. If we refuse your request to correct information we hold, we will give you the opportunity to post a statement of your claim where we hold your personal information.
