Beech Forest54 Gardner Street

Picturesque Gateway to a Thriving Community

Perched high on a ridge with a stunning view over the Otway Ranges towards the Grampians (approx. 200 kms in the distance), this building block of land is a perfect rural retreat.

Slightly undulating with plenty of room, approx. 1245 sqms for your home and pets, this block is ready for development.
Beech Forest has been described by one of our local poets Annabel Tellis as neither a beach nor a forest.
It is however a magnificent town that is rich in history. The town once boasted a railway station which provided an essential link between neighbouring towns for transport of trees and produce.

The railway which was closed in 1962 has been rejuvenated to the Old Beechy Rail Trail which links Beech Forest to Colac with a 45 km mountain bike trail. The trail is a great opportunity to have a look at the tall stands of Myrtle Beech which the town was named after.

The town is now a thriving community of organic farmers, artists and people looking for a quiet alternate lifestyle. Beech Forest is also the gateway to the picturesque 'Turtons Track' drive, The Otway Fly, Triplet Falls, Hopetoun Falls and Beauchamp Falls.

It is also birth place of Australia icon Cliff Young who was the winner of the 1983 Westfield Sydney to Melbourne Ultra Marathon at the age of 61. He was often seen training in his gumboots in the pouring rain in the months before the race.

This is an area rich in history and community.
